Join Anirudh (from Khao) and Soma (from Masala Curious) for a workshop where you’ll learn various ways to combine spices while preparing a three-course dinner.
During this workshop, you’ll learn how to use spices in a lentil dish, a versatile marinade for proteins, salad dressings, and even spices in desserts!
You’ll go home with gezellig memories, your own unique spice blend, and the confidence to use spices that often just sit at the back of the cupboard. Not to forget, a full belly :)

A brunch workshop with Spice First, where we will make 3 main dishes with several accompaniments, including Khao’s products.
Dosa with podi, coconut chutney, and sambar - a popular fermented breakfast dish from Karnataka
Begun paturi with kasundi - aubergine marinated in coconut and mustard and steamed in a banana leaf, from Bengal
Kiri bath with seeni sambol and lunu miris sambol - Sri Lankan coconut milk rice served with spiced caramelised onion sambol and a salty chili sambol

Codename: Sunrise is a temporary space for connection and inspiration, fostering collaboration and action to create a pathway toward a preferred regenerative future.
During this two-day gathering, a group of people in The Hague explores collaboration and shares inspiration. The participants co-create the programme. The general topic is a just transition towards a regenerative society in our bioregion. We are not sure yet about the boundaries of this region.
Khao Foods will be facilitating a workshop on the morning of September 21 at KiCo, where we cook a meal but also think about the waste we are generating, and how we can better tackle this waste. Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested donation of €70 per day.
